has the internet and forums like these caused an exodus from the j-dubs?
when i left in the early 1990s i met support groups through the yellow pages but it still felt like i was the only one in the world who was an apostate.

I am going to be unusually blunt and say that I believe many started opposing after they fell for wrong doing and then decided to give credence to there bhaivor by deciding "hey...lets find something bad to say about the WTS and I will feel better about my self"

on the subject on prayer when you said they go unanswered you said it more correctly that it "seemed unanswered"
Jehovah does anwer prayers, but we must become in a way "conduits", if you will, for each other

in contemplating that reference I still see Jesus as my mediator through which I approuch Jehovah
My understanding is that in that reference Jesus work as a mediator in the context of that scripture is for the covenent. but the blanket accusation you are making...I just don't see it.

it is quite obvious that, not only did peter regard the holy spirit as personal, but as god himself present with his people.
as you read the nwt`s version, ask yourself the following questions:

well that scripture if you look in the NWT makes reference to
(John 15:26) When the helper arrives that I will send YOU from the Father, the spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, that one will bear witness about me
so yes it is "of Jesus" in that it bears witness about him and he was given authority once he was ressurected to send it forth,
but look closely at the first part "it proceeds from the Father"

fist off let me thank you for that bit of info about the gnostics, thats a good bit of history (remember though its a five minte talk so all the research has to be cut down).
as for the rest...well I must humbly ask where you get that information from. I am a JW and I deny niether the father or the son.

i wanted to make some special comments on this since i found so many interesting things here.
the dramas can be a great place to read between the lines and most jws don?t catch it because they put their notepads down.
they died because they lied about what the would give

one of the hardest doctrines of the witnesses that i couldn't wrap my little brain around, was the teaching that the resurrected would not marry.. i remember one assembly, a whole talk was spent on the resurrection, and emphasis was placed on the fact that they would not marry.
the couple sitting in front of me (obviously a happy couple, 'cause this distressed them) whispered how they just couldn't believe it.. here's the scripture they use to back their doctrine:.
matt 22:22-33 specifically vs 30 "for in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven...".
Your point is intrigueing, and that scripture to be consistent with other doctine dos seem to point to the anointed the rest is speculation about a future that hasn't presented itself just stick to your relationship with Jehovah and the answeres will appear remember pray,study and meditate and a balanced understanding will come,
